The temporomandibular joints (TMJs) connect the jaw to the skull and allow us to chew and speak. TMJ disorder occurs when these joints become inflamed, which can result in a range of symptoms, including jaw and neck pain and difficulty chewing.
If you suffer from TMJ disorder, we can perform an accurate diagnosis at our practice and – in many cases – treat the condition with a specially designed mouthguard. Typically worn at night, the mouth guard gradually moves your jaw back into proper alignment to reduce tension on your joints.

Oral Appliances to Treat TMJ and Protect Against Injury

We offer athletic mouthguards if you play contact sports and want to protect your teeth from trauma. Dentist-provided sports mouth guards can reduce the severity of sports-related dental injuries.
Mild cases of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder can be corrected with appliances such as an oral splint, fitted at our practice. This appliance is custom-made to hold the jaw in the proper position and stop the habit of clenching and grinding teeth.
